Rachael Halpern, Wedding Planner / CoordinatorAloha! Living in Kona, Hawaii and planning local and destination weddings is a hard-earned dream come true. I have over 6 years of practical education and experience in event planning; I also have a Masters of Arts degree, a Bachelor of Arts degree, and a wealth of knowledge on the wedding and event planning industry and trends. Before turning to full time wedding planning in Hawaii, I planned large group events for corporations and students. I also have worked with several top restaurants and a worldclass resort, where I gained detailed insights into the inner workings of developing successful events. Finally, I am now an official Wedding Ace for Wedding Wire, the nation's leading wedding technology company (you can read my posts on their Wedding Aces Blog). These valuable experiences and insights prepared me to be a Wedding Coordinator, however, my true inspiration for planning Hawaii destination weddings can be traced back to my childhood. My passion for wedding planning and design was influenced by my lifetime exposure to an abundance of art media. My mom is a talented artist and growing up looking over her shoulder and playing with paint, fabric, jewels, furniture and whatever else we could get our hands on inspired me to view life as one big expression of art and love. This very naturally translated to Hawaii wedding planning where the creativity can run high and the goal is to express and celebrate love. My personal view of life as art also inspired me to travel the world to see as much beauty and diversity as possible so that I could incorporate it into my designs. I have visited more then twenty-seven countries yielding a wealth of rich experiences and cosmopolitan knowledge that I use everyday in my job. This unique exposure to all different cultures, fashions, and traditions gives me a large pool of inspirations to choose from when helping you design your one-of-a-kind wedding. It also helps me relate to couples and families of diverse cultural traditions and bring everything together in a beautiful and expressive way. Most recently, like many women in their late twenties, I have been surrounded by brides in my life and not long ago became one myself! This intimate look at weddings and marriage has given me special insight into the importance of one's wedding day and the challenges of being the bride so I can better serve my clients. Above all, I find inspiration in the daily environment of Hawaii; her turquoise waters, vibrant rainbows, and passionate sunsets remind me what weddings are all about. Mahalo Nui Loa for your interest in Vintage&Lace! Me ka aloha, Rachael

Heather Sorensen, Wedding Planner / CoordinatorThe characteristics of one's wedding can come from ancestors, be taken from life experiences, or be original to you as a happily engaged couple. I enjoy helping couples select the inspirations that fit their history and future and then, entwining these into a stunning wedding design. My passion for wedding planning and wedding coordinating lies in helping people find happiness; I love working with brides and grooms on the wedding details that make them happy and remind them what getting married is all about. The unique combination of my personal and professional skills makes me strongly suited to the demands of wedding planning, designing, and coordinating; especially regarding the finite details and special needs of your wedding day. I have 10 years of experience in event and wedding planning accumulated through a variety of customer service, hospitality, and professional positions. I have managed and coordinated countless events and dealt directly with caterers and restaurants. I have a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelors Degree in Marketing. Additionally, as the only sister to six brothers, I learned how to be a tough negotiator, strong communicator, and great manager; I thrive on approaching any wedding situation with a balance of friendliness and authority to ensure that everything goes off smoothly and that you are happy. Throughout the past decade, I have discovered that I truly appreciate the differences in culture, values, and traditions for every individual. One of my most unique wedding experiences was attending a wedding in Cordoba, Argentina. The experience enlightened me to another country's customs. A beautiful, traditional ceremony was followed by a lively, festive reception that lasted until the early morning! I live in Austin, Texas, a lively city that is surrounded by the natural beauty of the hill country and has a true appreciation for music and culture that inspire my style. I have a strong sense for timeless class and match this with a beautiful simplicity and sweetness in my vintage wedding designs. Congratulations and may your heart be filled with love! XO Heather |
